1. Introduction

This Domain Renewal & Expiration Agreement ("Agreement") governs the renewal, expiration, post-expiration handling, recovery, restoration, and deletion of domain names managed through Hostwover.

This Agreement is entered into between:

  • Hostwover ("Hostwover", "we", "us", or "our"); and
  • the person or organization holding, purchasing, managing, renewing, or otherwise controlling the applicable domain-registration Service ("Customer", "you", "your", "Registrant", or "Registered Name Holder", as applicable).

By registering, renewing, managing, enabling Auto-Renew for, or continuing to use an applicable domain through Hostwover, you agree to this Agreement.

This Agreement forms part of Hostwover's Terms of Service.

2. Related Agreements and Policies

This Agreement should be read together with:

  • Terms of Service.
  • Registrar Information.
  • Domain Registration Agreement.
  • Domain Transfer Agreement.
  • Domain Expiration & Recovery Policy.
  • Domain Dispute Policy.
  • Refund Policy.
  • Privacy Policy.
  • Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Abuse Handling Policy.
  • Trademark & Copyright Policy.
  • Complaints & Dispute Resolution; and
  • other applicable Hostwover legal documents.

A domain may additionally be subject to mandatory requirements imposed by:

  • the applicable Registry Operator.
  • the Sponsoring Registrar.
  • ICANN, where applicable.
  • a dispute-resolution provider.
  • a competent court.
  • a regulatory authority; or
  • applicable law.

3. Definitions

For this Agreement:

Domain Name

A domain-name registration managed through Hostwover.

Registrant

The individual or organization holding the applicable domain-registration rights.

Registered Name Holder

The person or organization recognized as the holder of a domain registration under applicable registration records and policies.

RAE

For purposes of applicable ICANN expiration policies, the "Registered Name Holder at Expiration" or other person entitled to renew or restore the registration under the applicable policy.

Expiration Date

The date on which the current domain-registration period is scheduled to expire unless properly renewed.

Renewal

Extension of the domain registration for an additional registration period.

Auto-Renew

A Hostwover functionality that authorizes Hostwover to attempt to renew an eligible domain automatically using an authorized payment method.

Grace Period

A period that may exist after expiration during which an expired domain may remain eligible for ordinary or post-expiration renewal.

Redemption Grace Period

A registry-level recovery period, where applicable, during which a deleted domain may be restorable before final deletion.

Restoration

Recovery of an expired or deleted domain through an applicable recovery or redemption procedure.

Registry Operator

The organization operating the registry for the applicable TLD.

Sponsoring Registrar

The registrar sponsoring the domain registration in the applicable registry.

4. Scope

This Agreement applies to domain lifecycle matters including:

  • manual renewal.
  • automatic renewal.
  • renewal pricing.
  • payment authorization.
  • renewal reminders.
  • expiration.
  • post-expiration renewal.
  • DNS interruption following expiration.
  • expiration-related domain statuses.
  • grace periods.
  • redemption periods.
  • restoration.
  • recovery charges.
  • deletion.
  • release of deleted domains.
  • transfers involving expired domains; and
  • related customer responsibilities.

5. Domain Registrations Are Time-Limited

A domain registration is not permanent.

Each domain is registered for a defined registration term.

Unless renewed successfully, the registration may expire at the end of that term.

You are responsible for understanding and monitoring the expiration date of your domains.

6. Expiration Date

The applicable expiration date may be displayed through:

  • your Hostwover Account.
  • domain-management interfaces.
  • renewal interfaces.
  • renewal communications; or
  • authoritative domain-registration data.

You should review the expiration date regularly, particularly for domains that are important to your:

  • website.
  • business.
  • email.
  • applications.
  • brand.
  • customer communications; or
  • infrastructure.

7. Customer Responsibility for Renewal

Although Hostwover may provide renewal reminders and Auto-Renew functionality, you remain responsible for ensuring that your domain is successfully renewed before you lose the applicable registration rights.

You should not rely solely on:

  • a reminder email.
  • Auto-Renew.
  • a saved payment method.
  • a grace period.
  • a redemption period; or
  • an expectation that Hostwover will manually intervene.

8. Renewal Options

Depending on the domain, Hostwover may support:

  • manual renewal.
  • automatic renewal.
  • multi-year renewal.
  • post-expiration renewal.
  • redemption or restoration; or
  • another renewal procedure supported by the applicable TLD.

Not every option is available for every domain.

9. Manual Renewal

Where manual renewal is supported, you may renew an eligible domain through the applicable Hostwover interface.

A manual renewal generally requires:

  1. selecting the domain.
  2. selecting an available renewal term.
  3. reviewing the applicable price.
  4. making payment; and
  5. successful processing through the domain-registration system.

10. Renewal Completion

A renewal is considered successfully completed only when the renewal has been successfully processed through the applicable domain-registration system.

Creation of:

  • an order.
  • an invoice.
  • a payment attempt; or
  • a pending renewal request

does not by itself guarantee successful renewal.

11. Renewal Confirmation

Where functionality is available, Hostwover will reflect or communicate the successful renewal status.

After renewal, you should verify that the domain's expiration information reflects the expected registration period.

If you believe a paid renewal was not correctly applied, contact Hostwover Support promptly.

12. Auto-Renew

Hostwover may provide Auto-Renew functionality for eligible domains.

When Auto-Renew is enabled, you authorize Hostwover to attempt to renew the domain using an authorized payment method associated with your Account.

Auto-Renew is intended to reduce the risk of accidental domain expiration.

It is not a guarantee of successful renewal.

13. Auto-Renew Authorization

By enabling Auto-Renew, you authorize Hostwover to charge the applicable renewal amount, including where applicable:

  • renewal price.
  • taxes.
  • legally required charges; and
  • other properly disclosed renewal-related amounts

using an eligible payment method.

The amount charged will be based on the applicable renewal price at the time the renewal is processed.

14. Auto-Renew Timing

Hostwover may attempt an automatic renewal before or around the applicable domain-renewal deadline according to the renewal schedule used for the relevant domain.

The exact timing may vary according to:

  • TLD.
  • registration status.
  • billing cycle.
  • applicable registry requirements.
  • payment processing.
  • operational requirements; and
  • other domain lifecycle rules.

15. Multiple Renewal Attempts

Where an Auto-Renew payment attempt fails, Hostwover may make additional payment attempts where authorized and technically available.

Hostwover does not guarantee:

  • the number of retries.
  • the timing of retries; or
  • that a later retry will succeed.

You should take manual action if an Auto-Renew attempt fails.

16. Failed Auto-Renew

Auto-Renew may fail because of:

  • insufficient funds.
  • expired payment method.
  • declined transaction.
  • payment-provider rejection.
  • removed payment authorization.
  • currency restrictions.
  • verification requirements.
  • Account restriction.
  • domain status.
  • registry restriction.
  • technical failure.
  • pricing change; or
  • another processing issue.

A failed Auto-Renew does not extend the domain's registration period.

17. Payment Method Responsibility

If you use Auto-Renew, you are responsible for maintaining an eligible and authorized payment method.

This includes keeping applicable payment information current.

Hostwover is not responsible for domain loss caused solely by a Customer failing to maintain a working authorized payment method after appropriate renewal information has been made available.

Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.

18. Disabling Auto-Renew

Where functionality is available, you may disable Auto-Renew before the applicable renewal is processed.

Disabling Auto-Renew means Hostwover will no longer be authorized to rely on that feature to attempt the applicable automatic renewal.

You remain responsible for manually renewing the domain if you wish to retain it.

19. Cancellation After Auto-Renew

Once a domain renewal has been successfully completed, the renewal transaction may be irreversible.

Disabling Auto-Renew after a successful renewal does not cancel the renewal already completed.

It only affects future renewal attempts where applicable.

20. Renewal Price

Domain renewal pricing may differ from:

  • initial registration pricing.
  • promotional registration pricing.
  • transfer pricing.
  • previous renewal pricing; or
  • restoration pricing.

The applicable renewal price will generally be shown through the relevant Hostwover pricing or renewal interface.

21. Renewal Price Changes

Renewal pricing may change because of factors including:

  • Registry pricing.
  • domain classification.
  • premium status.
  • currency movements.
  • taxes.
  • changes to applicable costs.
  • commercial pricing changes; or
  • other factors affecting the relevant TLD.

Unless Hostwover expressly guarantees otherwise, a previous price does not guarantee a future renewal price.

22. Promotional Pricing

A promotional registration or transfer price does not automatically apply to renewal.

For example, a domain registered at a discounted first-year price may renew at the standard renewal price applicable at the time of renewal.

Any renewal promotion is subject to its own conditions.

23. Premium Domains

Premium Domains may have renewal prices materially higher than standard domains under the same TLD.

Premium pricing may apply to:

  • registration.
  • renewal.
  • transfer.
  • restoration; or
  • other domain lifecycle transactions.

You are responsible for reviewing the applicable Premium Domain renewal price before renewal.

24. Taxes and Other Charges

Renewal charges may include applicable:

  • VAT.
  • government charges.
  • taxes.
  • legally required fees; or
  • other disclosed amounts.

Hostwover will handle these charges according to applicable law.

25. Currency

Renewal prices may be displayed or charged in supported currencies.

The final amount may be affected by:

  • currency conversion.
  • exchange rates.
  • card-issuer charges.
  • payment-provider conversion; or
  • banking fees.

Charges imposed independently by your bank or payment provider are outside Hostwover's control.

26. Renewal Fees and Recovery Fees

Renewal, post-expiration renewal, and redemption or restoration may involve different fees.

Where applicable, current fees will be made available through:

  • Hostwover's domain pricing.
  • the relevant Account interface.
  • the renewal or recovery flow; or
  • another applicable Hostwover pricing disclosure.

A standard renewal price should not be assumed to apply during redemption or restoration.

27. Renewal Reminders

Hostwover may send renewal and expiration notices using contact information associated with the Account or domain registration.

Notices may be delivered through:

  • email.
  • Account notifications.
  • domain-management notifications; or
  • another available communication channel.

Where a particular domain policy requires a specific notification method or schedule, that requirement will apply.

28. gTLD Pre-Expiration Notices

For gTLD registrations subject to ICANN's Expired Registration Recovery Policy ("ERRP"), the applicable required pre-expiration notices include at least two notices before expiration:

  • one approximately one month before expiration; and
  • one approximately one week before expiration.

Under current ICANN guidance, notices sent approximately 26–35 days and 4–10 days before expiration respectively satisfy those timing windows.

Hostwover may send additional notices.

29. Post-Expiration Notice

For applicable gTLD registrations that expire without renewal, applicable ICANN requirements also provide for an additional expiration notice within five (5) days after expiration, including information about renewal.

Additional Hostwover notifications may also be sent.

30. Notification Method

Required domain expiration notices may be delivered electronically, including by email, using the applicable registration or Account contact information.

Hostwover may additionally use:

  • Account alerts.
  • dashboard notifications.
  • Service notifications; or
  • other reasonable communication methods.

Required notices subject to applicable ICANN policy will be handled according to the communication requirements applicable to the registration.

31. Keep Your Email Current

You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address associated with your Account and domain-registration information.

You should not rely exclusively on an email address using the domain that is about to expire.

If the domain expires and its DNS stops functioning, email using that domain may also stop working.

32. Secondary Contact Information

Where available, maintaining an alternative contact address that does not depend on the expiring domain can reduce the risk of missing important expiration information.

You are responsible for maintaining accurate Account contact information.

33. Failure to Receive a Reminder

Failure to receive, notice, open, or read a renewal reminder does not automatically:

  • renew the domain.
  • extend its expiration date.
  • create an additional grace period; or
  • prevent expiration.

This does not relieve Hostwover or other applicable domain participants from mandatory notification obligations imposed by law or policy.

34. Expiration

If an eligible domain is not successfully renewed before the applicable expiration point, it may become expired.

Expiration can affect the domain immediately or progressively depending on the applicable domain lifecycle.

35. Effects of Expiration

Following expiration, one or more of the following may occur:

  • DNS resolution may be interrupted.
  • the website may stop loading.
  • email may stop functioning.
  • API endpoints may become unreachable.
  • verification records may stop resolving.
  • certificates may fail to renew.
  • nameservers may be modified or cease operating.
  • the domain may display an expiration page.
  • domain management may be restricted.
  • transfer procedures may change.
  • the domain may enter a grace stage.
  • the domain may enter redemption; or
  • the domain may ultimately be deleted.

36. Expiration Does Not Immediately Mean Final Loss

Expiration and final deletion are not necessarily the same event.

Depending on the TLD, an expired domain may remain recoverable for a limited period.

However, no post-expiration recovery period should be treated as guaranteed unless it actually applies to the particular domain.

37. DNS Interruption

Applicable domain policies may require or permit interruption of the existing DNS resolution path after expiration.

For gTLDs subject to the current ERRP, DNS interruption requirements may apply during periods in which an expired registration remains renewable.

As a result, an expired domain may stop directing visitors to the Customer's existing website or Services.

38. Expiration Landing Page

Where an expired gTLD is redirected to an expiration page while it remains renewable by the applicable Registered Name Holder at Expiration, applicable ICANN requirements require that the page clearly indicate that:

  • the domain registration has expired; and
  • renewal instructions are available.

Hostwover may also provide renewal instructions through the Account.

39. Post-Expiration Renewal

Some expired domains may remain renewable after expiration.

If the applicable lifecycle permits post-expiration renewal, the Customer may be able to renew the domain before deletion or before the applicable recovery stage changes.

Availability depends on:

  • TLD.
  • expiration stage.
  • Registry requirements.
  • domain status.
  • applicable policies; and
  • timing.

40. Restoration of DNS After Renewal

Where an expired domain is successfully renewed while still eligible for ordinary post-expiration renewal, applicable domain systems will seek to restore the relevant registration and DNS status.

Restoration of DNS functionality may not be instantaneous because of:

  • registration-system processing.
  • DNS propagation.
  • caching.
  • nameserver configuration.
  • technical processing; or
  • other operational factors.

41. No Universal Grace Period

Hostwover does not represent that every domain includes the same post-expiration grace period.

Different TLDs may have:

  • different grace periods.
  • no ordinary grace period.
  • different deletion dates.
  • different redemption rules.
  • different restoration procedures; or
  • special Registry rules.

The lifecycle applicable to the particular domain controls.

42. Grace Period Is Not an Extension of the Contracted Term

Where a post-expiration grace period exists, it is a recovery opportunity and does not mean that the original registration period has been extended without payment.

The domain may be technically restricted during this period.

43. Registry Auto-Renew Mechanisms

Certain registries operate a technical Auto-Renew Grace Period or similar registry-level mechanism following expiration.

Such mechanisms exist within the domain-registration infrastructure.

They must not be confused with the Customer-facing Hostwover Auto-Renew feature.

44. Registry Auto-Renew Does Not Mean You Renewed

A registry-level automatic renewal event does not necessarily mean that:

  • you paid Hostwover.
  • your Hostwover renewal succeeded.
  • your Customer subscription has been renewed.
  • the domain is guaranteed to remain registered to you indefinitely; or
  • Hostwover has waived the applicable renewal charge.

The applicable Customer renewal status in Hostwover controls your contractual renewal relationship.

45. Deletion Timing

The timing at which a non-renewed domain may be deleted depends on the applicable TLD lifecycle and domain-registration requirements.

Hostwover may publish further TLD-specific lifecycle information through:

  • the Domain Expiration & Recovery Policy.
  • domain-management interfaces.
  • renewal documentation; or
  • other appropriate disclosures.

There is no single universal deletion day applicable to every TLD.

46. gTLD Deletion Requirements

For applicable gTLD registrations, deletion and post-expiration handling may also be governed by ICANN's:

  • Expired Domain Deletion Policy ("EDDP"); and
  • Expired Registration Recovery Policy ("ERRP").

These policies establish minimum requirements relating to expiration notices, post-expiration renewal, DNS interruption, deletion practices, and recovery.

47. Forty-Five-Day Rule Is Not a Guaranteed Grace Period

Certain applicable ICANN deletion requirements refer to deletion within 45 days in specified circumstances and in the absence of defined extenuating circumstances.

This should not be interpreted as a guaranteed 45-day renewal grace period for every domain.

A domain may be deleted or move into another lifecycle stage earlier where applicable policy permits.

Customers should renew before expiration rather than relying on this period.

48. Extenuating Circumstances

Applicable domain policies may recognize certain circumstances that affect normal deletion timing.

For applicable gTLDs, recognized circumstances may include matters such as:

  • pending UDRP proceedings.
  • valid court orders.
  • certain renewal-process failures.
  • certain DNS infrastructure dependencies.
  • bankruptcy proceedings.
  • qualifying payment disputes.
  • qualifying billing disputes.
  • litigation; or
  • other specifically authorized circumstances.

The applicability of any exception depends on the facts and governing policy.

49. Redemption Grace Period

Certain deleted domains may enter a Redemption Grace Period ("RGP").

For gTLDs subject to the applicable ICANN ERRP requirements, non-sponsored gTLD registries generally provide a 30-day Redemption Grace Period immediately following deletion, subject to applicable exceptions.

The applicable TLD rules control.

50. Redemption Is Different From Ordinary Renewal

Redemption or restoration is not the same as normal renewal.

Once a domain enters RGP or a similar recovery stage:

  • ordinary renewal may no longer be available.
  • additional processing may be required.
  • a higher fee may apply.
  • DNS may remain disabled; and
  • transfer may be restricted.

51. DNS During Redemption

For applicable gTLDs during RGP:

  • DNS resolution is generally disabled; and
  • ordinary transfer attempts are generally prohibited.

A domain in redemption should therefore not be expected to continue operating normally.

52. Restoration Request

Where a domain remains eligible for restoration, you may request restoration through Hostwover.

A restoration request may require:

  • payment of the applicable recovery fee.
  • verification.
  • confirmation of ownership.
  • updated Registration Data.
  • additional documentation; or
  • other requirements applicable to the domain.

53. Restoration Fee

Restoration fees may be substantially higher than standard renewal fees.

The applicable restoration or redemption charge will be displayed or otherwise made available before the recovery transaction where required.

Payment of a restoration charge does not create a guarantee if the domain has already become technically unrecoverable.

54. Restoration Completion

A restoration request is considered successfully completed only when the domain has been restored through the applicable registration system.

An order or payment alone does not guarantee restoration.

55. No Guarantee of Restoration

Hostwover cannot guarantee that an expired or deleted domain can be restored.

Restoration may fail because:

  • the recovery period ended.
  • the domain entered final deletion.
  • the Registry does not support the requested recovery.
  • eligibility requirements are not satisfied.
  • the domain is subject to a legal restriction.
  • the domain status prevents restoration; or
  • another applicable restriction exists.

56. End of Redemption

When an applicable Redemption Grace Period ends without restoration, the domain may enter a final deletion stage.

At that point, ordinary restoration may no longer be possible.

57. Pending Delete

Some domain registries use a status commonly known as Pending Delete after the redemption period ends.

During this stage:

  • renewal is generally unavailable.
  • restoration is generally unavailable.
  • transfer is generally unavailable; and
  • final deletion may occur automatically.

The exact lifecycle depends on the TLD.

58. Final Deletion

After completion of the applicable expiration and recovery lifecycle, the domain may be permanently deleted from its previous registration.

Hostwover may have no technical ability to reverse final deletion.

59. Release for New Registration

After final deletion, a domain may become available for registration by another person.

Hostwover does not guarantee:

  • exactly when the domain will be released.
  • that it will become publicly available.
  • that the previous Registrant can register it again; or
  • that another person will not register it first.

60. Registration by Another Person

If a domain is validly released and subsequently registered by another person, the previous Customer does not automatically retain rights to recover the domain merely because they previously held it.

Any remaining legal rights would need to arise from an applicable basis such as:

  • trademark rights.
  • court proceedings.
  • UDRP.
  • applicable Registry dispute procedure; or
  • another recognized legal process.

61. Hostwover Cannot Reserve a Deleted Domain

Once the previous registration has completed its deletion lifecycle, Hostwover cannot guarantee reservation of the domain for the previous Customer.

The domain may become subject to general registration availability and applicable Registry rules.

62. Effects on Websites

If a domain expires, websites using that domain may become inaccessible even where the underlying hosting account remains active.

Domain registration and Web Hosting are separate Services.

Renewing hosting does not renew the domain unless expressly included in the same transaction.

63. Effects on Email

Expiration may interrupt email associated with the domain.

This may affect:

  • Professional Email.
  • Google Workspace.
  • external email services; or
  • any other email system relying on the domain's DNS.

Messages sent during the interruption may fail, bounce, or otherwise not be delivered.

64. Recovery Email Risk

You should avoid relying solely on an email address under the same domain for critical Hostwover Account recovery.

If the domain expires, you may lose access to that email address.

Maintaining a secure alternative recovery channel can reduce this risk.

65. Effects on VPS and VDS

Expiration of a domain does not automatically terminate an associated VPS or VDS.

However, applications accessed through the expired domain may appear unavailable even if the underlying server remains operational.

Customers remain responsible for separately managing their infrastructure Services.

66. Effects on SSL Certificates

Domain expiration or DNS interruption may affect:

  • certificate validation.
  • certificate renewal.
  • HTTPS availability.
  • domain ownership verification; or
  • other certificate-related functionality.

Renewing a certificate does not renew the domain registration itself.

67. Other Services Remain Separate

Domain expiration does not automatically cancel:

  • Web Hosting.
  • VPS.
  • VDS.
  • Professional Email.
  • Google Workspace.
  • backups.
  • other subscriptions; or
  • unrelated domains.

Charges for separate active Services may continue until those Services are independently cancelled.

68. Transfer Near Expiration

Customers planning to transfer a domain should avoid unnecessary delay when the expiration date is close.

Transfers may require:

  • unlocking.
  • authorization.
  • verification.
  • AuthInfo Codes; and
  • processing time.

Waiting until the last moment creates a greater risk of complications.

69. Expiration and Transfer Rights

For applicable gTLDs, expiration or non-renewal alone does not necessarily eliminate the Registered Name Holder's right to request an otherwise eligible inter-registrar transfer.

However, transfer availability may still be affected by:

  • unpaid prior registration periods.
  • redemption.
  • pending deletion.
  • applicable locks.
  • disputes.
  • legal orders; or
  • other valid transfer restrictions.

The Domain Transfer Agreement governs transfer procedures.

70. Renewal During a Pending Transfer

Renewal and transfer actions performed close together can affect expiration information or transfer processing depending on the relevant registry lifecycle.

Customers should review the domain status carefully before initiating multiple lifecycle transactions.

71. Domain Disputes During Expiration

Expiration does not necessarily eliminate an ongoing domain dispute.

A domain subject to:

  • UDRP.
  • URS.
  • litigation.
  • Registry dispute procedure; or
  • another binding proceeding

may be subject to special renewal, lock, restoration, or deletion rules.

72. UDRP and Expired Domains

For applicable gTLDs, ICANN's Expired Domain Deletion Policy provides special procedures when a domain subject to a UDRP dispute expires or is deleted during the dispute.

Applicable parties may have specific renewal or restoration rights under that policy.

Hostwover will implement applicable requirements where necessary.

73. Court Orders

A valid court order may affect:

  • renewal.
  • expiration.
  • deletion.
  • transfer.
  • restoration.
  • ownership.
  • DNS; or
  • other domain lifecycle actions.

Hostwover will process valid legal requirements according to applicable law.

74. Security Restrictions

A domain involved in:

  • account compromise.
  • domain hijacking.
  • fraud.
  • phishing.
  • malware.
  • ownership dispute; or
  • another material security incident

may be subject to additional verification or temporary restrictions.

Such restrictions do not automatically extend the expiration date.

75. Suspended Domains Still Require Renewal

A domain that is suspended, locked, restricted, or under investigation may still reach its normal expiration date.

Unless applicable policy provides otherwise, suspension does not automatically extend the registration period.

Customers should continue monitoring renewal obligations.

76. Account Suspension

Suspension of a Hostwover Account does not necessarily stop domain expiration.

If a Customer wishes to retain a domain while an Account issue is being resolved, they should address renewal and Account issues promptly.

Hostwover may apply appropriate procedures depending on:

  • the reason for suspension.
  • payment status.
  • legal requirements.
  • domain status; and
  • applicable policy.

77. Account Closure

A Hostwover Account with active domains may require additional action before complete closure.

Customers should:

  • renew domains they wish to retain.
  • transfer domains where appropriate.
  • update Registrant information where necessary; or
  • otherwise resolve active registrations.

Deleting an Account request does not itself transfer ownership of a domain.

78. Multi-Year Renewal

Where supported, Hostwover may allow renewal for more than one year.

Availability depends on:

  • TLD.
  • existing registration term.
  • maximum permitted registration period.
  • domain status; and
  • Registry requirements.

79. Maximum Registration Term

Certain registries impose a maximum total registration period.

A requested multi-year renewal may therefore be:

  • limited.
  • adjusted.
  • unavailable; or
  • rejected

if it would exceed the maximum registration term permitted for the domain.

80. ccTLD Renewals

Country-code top-level domains ("ccTLDs") may have renewal and expiration rules materially different from gTLD rules.

A ccTLD may have:

  • different renewal deadlines.
  • different notice requirements.
  • no equivalent ICANN ERRP process.
  • different grace periods.
  • different restoration periods.
  • different deletion schedules.
  • local eligibility requirements; or
  • other Registry-specific procedures.

The applicable ccTLD rules control.

81. Sponsored and Special TLDs

Certain sponsored, restricted, community, geographic, or other specialized TLDs may operate under additional or different lifecycle requirements.

A rule described in this Agreement for ordinary gTLDs should not be assumed to apply identically to every domain extension.

82. Domain Lifecycle Information

Hostwover may provide additional information concerning the lifecycle of supported TLDs through:

  • domain-product pages.
  • Account interfaces.
  • renewal screens.
  • Domain Expiration & Recovery Policy.
  • customer support; or
  • other appropriate disclosures.

Customers should review applicable information for important domains.

83. Registry Policy Changes

Registry Operators may change:

  • renewal periods.
  • grace periods.
  • restoration procedures.
  • pricing.
  • eligibility.
  • deletion schedules.
  • domain statuses; or
  • other lifecycle rules.

Where such changes validly apply, Hostwover may implement them.

84. ICANN Policy Changes

Applicable ICANN policies may change during the lifetime of a domain registration.

Hostwover may update:

  • renewal procedures.
  • expiration communications.
  • post-expiration handling.
  • restoration procedures; or
  • this Agreement

where necessary to reflect mandatory policy changes.

85. Notice of Material Changes

Where an applicable law or contractual requirement requires notice of a material change to this Agreement or relevant renewal practices, Hostwover may provide notice through:

  • email.
  • Account notification.
  • website notice; or
  • another reasonable channel.

86. Operational Communications

Renewal, expiration, recovery, and deletion communications are considered operational Service communications.

They may be sent regardless of whether you have opted out of optional marketing communications.

Examples include:

  • renewal reminders.
  • payment failures.
  • expiration warnings.
  • Auto-Renew notices.
  • post-expiration notices.
  • redemption warnings.
  • restoration confirmations; and
  • deletion-related information.

87. No Marketing Opt-Out for Necessary Renewal Notices

An unsubscribe request relating to advertising does not prevent Hostwover from sending communications reasonably necessary to administer your domain registration.

Where applicable policy requires a renewal or expiration notice, Hostwover or the applicable domain-registration system may send that notice regardless of marketing preferences.

88. Personal Data

Hostwover processes information necessary for domain renewal and expiration management according to the Privacy Policy.

Information may include:

  • Registration Data.
  • Account information.
  • domain status.
  • billing information.
  • payment status.
  • communications.
  • renewal history.
  • expiration information; and
  • security information.

89. Renewal Records

Hostwover may maintain records concerning:

  • renewal attempts.
  • successful renewals.
  • failed payments.
  • Auto-Renew settings.
  • expiration notices.
  • recovery requests.
  • restoration transactions.
  • Account actions; and
  • relevant domain statuses

where reasonably necessary for Service operation, disputes, security, compliance, or legal obligations.

90. Payment Disputes

If you believe that a renewal payment was made but the domain was not renewed, contact Hostwover promptly.

Provide available information including:

  • domain name.
  • order number.
  • transaction reference.
  • payment date; and
  • relevant Account information.

Hostwover will investigate the available records.

91. Chargebacks

A chargeback or reversal concerning a domain renewal may cause the applicable transaction to become unpaid.

Where legally and technically permitted, Hostwover may take proportionate action concerning an unpaid registration.

A legitimate payment dispute will be handled according to applicable law and Hostwover's dispute procedures.

92. Refunds for Renewals

Successfully completed domain renewals may be irreversible and are generally non-refundable except:

  • as expressly provided in Hostwover's Refund Policy.
  • where the relevant transaction can lawfully and technically be reversed.
  • where Hostwover determines a refund is appropriate; or
  • where applicable law requires a refund.

Disabling Auto-Renew after a completed renewal does not automatically create a right to a refund.

93. Refunds for Restoration

Restoration and redemption transactions may involve charges that become irreversible once the recovery request has been successfully processed.

Refund eligibility is governed by:

  • the Refund Policy.
  • domain status.
  • whether restoration completed; and
  • applicable law.

94. No Guarantee of Domain Value

Hostwover does not guarantee the:

  • commercial value.
  • resale value.
  • traffic.
  • branding value; or
  • future availability

of a domain.

Loss of an expired domain may have significant business consequences, so Customers should maintain renewal controls appropriate to the importance of the domain.

95. Critical Domains

For domains critical to your business, Hostwover strongly recommends that you:

  • enable Auto-Renew where available.
  • maintain a valid payment method.
  • monitor expiration dates.
  • keep Registration Data current.
  • maintain a backup Account email.
  • secure the Account with available MFA.
  • review renewal notices promptly; and
  • renew sufficiently before expiration.

These are risk-reduction measures and do not create a guarantee of renewal.

96. Hostwover's Responsibility

Hostwover will seek to:

  • make applicable renewal information available.
  • provide renewal functionality for supported domains.
  • process authorized renewal requests.
  • communicate required expiration information.
  • provide recovery functionality where supported.
  • protect Account security; and
  • apply applicable domain requirements.

Hostwover cannot override mandatory Registry or domain-system restrictions.

97. Customer-Controlled Failure

Subject to applicable law, Hostwover is not responsible for loss caused solely by the Customer:

  • failing to pay.
  • maintaining an invalid payment method.
  • disabling Auto-Renew.
  • ignoring renewal notices.
  • providing inaccessible contact information.
  • allowing Account compromise.
  • waiting until recovery is no longer available; or
  • otherwise failing to act before the applicable domain lifecycle expires.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot legally be excluded.

98. No Guarantee of Post-Expiration Availability

Hostwover does not guarantee that an expired domain will remain recoverable for any particular number of days unless a mandatory policy expressly provides the applicable right.

Customers must treat the displayed expiration date as the deadline by which renewal should be completed.

99. Limitation of Liability

Hostwover's liability concerning domain renewal, expiration, recovery, and deletion is subject to the limitation-of-liability provisions in the Terms of Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Hostwover will not be responsible for indirect losses resulting solely from a Customer's failure to renew a domain where Hostwover has complied with its applicable obligations.

Mandatory consumer and other non-excludable legal rights remain unaffected.

100. Governing Law

Subject to mandatory consumer protections and domain-specific requirements, this Agreement is governed by the law specified in Hostwover's Terms of Service.

Where the Terms of Service specify the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the same governing law applies to this Agreement unless a mandatory applicable domain policy or law requires otherwise.

101. Domain-Specific Requirements

Nothing in this Agreement overrides mandatory requirements imposed by:

  • an applicable Registry.
  • ICANN.
  • a competent court.
  • a regulatory authority.
  • a dispute-resolution provider; or
  • applicable law.

Where a mandatory requirement conflicts with this Agreement, the mandatory requirement controls to the extent of the conflict.

102. Complaints and Disputes

If you believe Hostwover incorrectly handled:

  • a renewal.
  • an Auto-Renew transaction.
  • an expiration notice.
  • a restoration request.
  • a domain deletion; or
  • another lifecycle event,

contact Hostwover Support promptly.

Applicable complaints may also be handled through Complaints & Dispute Resolution.

Nothing in this Agreement prevents you from exercising a mandatory complaint or regulatory right.

103. Severability

If a provision of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

104. No Waiver

Failure by Hostwover to immediately enforce a provision does not constitute a permanent waiver of that provision.

105. Electronic Acceptance

This Agreement may be accepted electronically.

Hostwover may maintain records including:

  • Account identifier.
  • domain.
  • Agreement version.
  • acceptance timestamp.
  • IP information.
  • order information; and
  • relevant transaction information

where appropriate to document acceptance.
