Language note
The English version of Hostwover's legal agreements and policies is the authoritative version. Translated versions are provided for convenience. If there is any conflict between translations, the English version shall prevail.

This Refund Policy ("Policy") explains when payments made to Hostwover ("Hostwover," "we," "us," or "our") may be eligible for a refund, account credit, payment reversal, or other billing adjustment.
This Policy applies to Customers purchasing, renewing, upgrading, adding, cancelling, or otherwise paying for products or services through Hostwover ("Customer," "you," or "your").
Because Hostwover provides different types of services—including services that may be immediately provisioned through third-party providers—refund eligibility varies by product.
This Policy should be read together with the:
- Hostwover Terms of Service.
- applicable product agreement.
- Customer Service Policy.
- Domain Registration Agreement.
- Domain Transfer Agreement.
- Domain Renewal & Expiration Agreement.
- Domain Expiration & Recovery Policy.
- Web Hosting Agreement.
- VPS Agreement.
- VDS Agreement.
- Professional Email Agreement.
- Google Workspace Agreement; and
- any refund or cancellation terms displayed during checkout.
Nothing in this Policy limits any refund, cancellation, withdrawal, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under applicable law.
1. Purpose
This Policy explains:
- when refunds may be available.
- when payments are generally non-refundable.
- how cancellations differ from refunds.
- how failed provisioning is handled.
- how duplicate payments are handled.
- how domain refunds are handled.
- how hosting refunds are handled.
- how VPS and VDS refunds are handled.
- how email and Google Workspace refunds are handled.
- how renewal payments are treated.
- how promotional purchases are treated.
- how approved refunds are processed.
- how service credits differ from refunds; and
- how billing disputes and chargebacks are handled.
2. General Principle
Purchasing a Service and cancelling a Service are not the same as receiving a refund.
A Customer may be permitted to cancel a Service or disable future renewal without being entitled to a refund for amounts already charged.
Refund eligibility depends on:
- the Service purchased.
- whether provisioning has begun.
- whether provisioning has completed.
- whether Hostwover has incurred an irreversible provider cost.
- whether the Service has been used.
- the applicable billing term.
- the reason for the refund request.
- applicable promotional terms.
- provider restrictions.
- applicable law; and
- any specific refund commitment displayed at purchase.
3. No Universal Money-Back Guarantee
Hostwover does not provide a universal unconditional money-back guarantee covering every Service unless Hostwover expressly states otherwise.
If a particular:
- product page.
- promotion.
- order.
- checkout page; or
- product agreement
expressly provides a money-back guarantee, the terms of that guarantee will apply to the qualifying purchase.
4. Product-Specific Guarantees
Where a particular Service includes a stated refund period or money-back guarantee, Hostwover may specify:
- eligible Services.
- eligible Customers.
- refund period.
- exclusions.
- maximum number of claims.
- usage requirements.
- payment-method limitations; and
- other applicable conditions.
Customers should review those conditions before purchase.
5. Mandatory Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Policy is intended to remove rights that a Customer has under mandatory applicable consumer law.
Where applicable law provides a Customer with a refund, withdrawal, cancellation, or other mandatory right that conflicts with this Policy, the mandatory legal requirement will apply.
6. Business Customers
Certain statutory consumer rights may apply only to individuals purchasing for personal purposes and may not apply to:
- companies.
- organizations.
- professionals.
- traders; or
- persons purchasing primarily for business purposes.
Eligibility is determined by applicable law.
7. Refund Versus Cancellation
A cancellation generally means stopping a Service or preventing a future renewal.
A refund means returning an amount that has already been paid.
Cancellation does not automatically create a refund entitlement.
8. Refund Versus Service Credit
A refund returns eligible funds through an approved payment method or other authorized mechanism.
A service credit or account credit is an amount applied toward present or future Hostwover charges.
A credit is not necessarily redeemable for cash unless expressly stated otherwise.
9. Refund Versus Payment Reversal
Where a payment is:
- duplicated.
- captured incorrectly.
- charged but the order is never created; or
- otherwise subject to a payment-processing error,
Hostwover may reverse or refund the affected transaction.
A payment reversal resulting from an unsuccessful transaction is different from a discretionary refund of a successfully delivered Service.
10. Requesting a Refund
Refund requests should be submitted through Hostwover Support or another refund interface made available by Hostwover.
Current general contact:
Hostwover Support
Email: [email protected]
Website: hostwover.com
11. Information Required
A refund request should identify, where applicable:
- Hostwover account.
- order number.
- invoice number.
- transaction.
- Service.
- domain.
- subscription.
- payment date.
- amount.
- reason for the request; and
- supporting information.
12. Verification
Hostwover may require account, payment, or identity verification before approving a refund.
This is intended to prevent unauthorized persons from:
- cancelling Services.
- redirecting refunds.
- changing payment information; or
- obtaining Customer funds.
13. Original Account Owner
Where reasonably necessary, Hostwover may require the refund request to originate from:
- the authenticated Customer account.
- registered account email.
- authorized organization administrator; or
- another verified representative.
14. Refund Review
Submission of a refund request does not mean the refund has been approved.
Hostwover may review:
- order status.
- provisioning status.
- product terms.
- Customer usage.
- provider charges.
- previous refunds.
- payment information.
- cancellation status.
- promotion conditions; and
- applicable law.
15. Approved Refund
A refund is considered approved only when Hostwover confirms approval through an authorized communication or refund process.
16. Refund Method
Where reasonably possible, an approved monetary refund may be returned to the original payment method.
Hostwover may use another appropriate refund method where:
- the original method cannot receive refunds.
- the payment provider prevents reversal.
- the payment method is unavailable.
- applicable law requires another method; or
- the Customer and Hostwover agree to another method.
17. Refund Processing Time
Hostwover will submit approved refunds within a commercially reasonable period.
The time before funds appear in the Customer's account may depend on:
- bank.
- card network.
- payment processor.
- wallet provider.
- payment method.
- currency.
- holidays; and
- other financial-system processing.
Hostwover does not control the internal settlement times of external financial institutions.
18. Payment Processor Delays
A refund marked completed by Hostwover may still require additional processing by the Customer's financial institution.
Customers should contact Hostwover if an approved refund does not appear after a reasonable processing period.
19. Refund Currency
Unless otherwise required, refunds will generally be calculated using the amount and currency actually charged for the eligible transaction.
20. Currency Conversion
Where the Customer's bank or payment provider performed a currency conversion, Hostwover is not responsible for differences caused by:
- exchange-rate movements.
- foreign-exchange fees.
- card-network conversion.
- bank conversion; or
- external financial-provider charges.
21. Processing Fees
Payment-processing fees, banking fees, foreign-exchange charges, or other third-party transaction costs may be non-refundable where Hostwover does not recover those amounts and applicable law permits them to remain non-refundable.
22. Taxes
Where a transaction is refunded, applicable tax amounts will be handled in accordance with:
- applicable tax law.
- invoicing rules.
- payment-processing rules; and
- Hostwover accounting procedures.
23. Tax Invoice Adjustments
Hostwover may issue an appropriate:
- refund invoice.
- credit note.
- revised tax document; or
- other accounting document
where required.
24. Partial Refunds
Hostwover may issue a partial refund where only part of a transaction qualifies.
Examples may include:
- partial provisioning failure.
- multiple products within one order.
- unused eligible components.
- prorated Service commitments where expressly permitted; or
- another justified adjustment.
25. No Automatic Proration
Cancellation during a billing period does not automatically entitle the Customer to a prorated refund for the unused portion of that period.
Prorated refunds are available only where:
- expressly offered.
- required by applicable law.
- required by an applicable SLA.
- Hostwover approves the adjustment; or
- the applicable product agreement provides for it.
26. Successful Provisioning
A Service is generally considered successfully provisioned when Hostwover or the applicable provider has created, activated, registered, assigned, licensed, or otherwise made the purchased Service available.
27. Failure to Use a Service
Failure to use a successfully provisioned Service does not itself create a refund entitlement.
Examples include:
- purchasing hosting but not uploading a website.
- purchasing a VPS but not logging in.
- purchasing a mailbox but not configuring a mail client.
- purchasing Workspace licenses but not creating users; or
- registering a domain but not creating a website.
28. Change of Mind
A Customer's change of mind after successful provisioning does not automatically create a right to a refund unless:
- a product-specific money-back guarantee applies.
- Hostwover approves the refund; or
- applicable law requires it.
29. Customer Error
Refunds may be unavailable for transactions completed correctly based on information supplied or confirmed by the Customer.
Examples include:
- incorrect domain spelling.
- wrong Service selection.
- wrong plan.
- wrong billing term.
- excessive license quantity.
- wrong server location.
- wrong operating-system selection; or
- purchasing a Service the Customer later determines is unnecessary.
30. Hostwover Error
If Hostwover materially processes an order differently from the Customer's confirmed purchase because of a Hostwover error, Hostwover may:
- correct the order.
- replace the Service.
- provide credit.
- issue a partial refund.
- issue a full refund; or
- provide another appropriate remedy.
31. Failed Provisioning
If Hostwover accepts payment but is unable to provision the purchased Service, the Customer may be eligible for:
- a full refund.
- account credit.
- replacement Service; or
- another agreed remedy.
32. Temporary Provisioning Delay
A temporary provisioning delay does not automatically constitute failed provisioning.
Hostwover may first attempt to complete provisioning within a reasonable period.
33. Customer-Caused Provisioning Failure
Refund treatment may differ where provisioning cannot complete because the Customer:
- provides invalid information.
- fails verification.
- provides an invalid domain.
- refuses required provider terms.
- does not complete required configuration.
- triggers fraud controls.
- is ineligible for the Service; or
- otherwise prevents provisioning.
34. Provider Rejection
If an upstream provider rejects an order before a non-refundable commitment occurs, Hostwover may refund or credit the applicable payment.
If the provider has already imposed a non-refundable charge, refund eligibility may depend on:
- provider rules.
- applicable law.
- reason for rejection; and
- Hostwover's applicable product terms.
35. Duplicate Payments
A genuine duplicate payment for the same intended purchase may be eligible for refund.
Hostwover may verify that:
- two separate charges occurred.
- only one Service was intended; and
- the second charge was not payment for a separate renewal, quantity, or order.
36. Duplicate Services
Ordering two similar Services does not necessarily constitute a duplicate payment.
If two Services were separately ordered and provisioned, both may remain chargeable.
37. Unauthorized Payment Claims
Customers who believe their payment method was used without authorization should contact Hostwover promptly.
Hostwover may:
- secure the account.
- investigate.
- restrict affected Services.
- review authentication information; and
- coordinate with the payment provider.
38. Fraudulent Orders
Hostwover may cancel fraudulent or high-risk orders.
Refund treatment may depend on:
- payment status.
- fraud risk.
- provider charges.
- chargeback status.
- legal requirements; and
- other relevant circumstances.
DOMAIN SERVICES
39. Domain Registrations
Domain registrations are generally non-refundable once successfully registered, except where:
- Hostwover expressly allows a refund.
- the applicable registrar or registry permits reversal.
- a technical error occurred.
- applicable law requires a refund; or
- another specific exception applies.
40. Why Domain Registrations Are Different
A domain registration creates an external registrar/registry transaction.
Once successfully completed, Hostwover may have incurred an immediate non-recoverable or restricted provider cost.
Cancellation of the Customer's intention to use the domain does not automatically reverse that transaction.
41. Domain Add Grace Period
Certain domain registries may provide a short Add Grace Period during which some new registrations can technically be deleted and credited to the registrar.
This does not create a universal Customer right to cancel every domain registration for a refund.
Whether Hostwover can provide a refund depends on:
- TLD.
- registry.
- registrar.
- upstream provider.
- timing.
- applicable limits; and
- whether the transaction can actually be reversed.
42. No Guaranteed Five-Day Domain Refund
Customers must not assume that all domains can be refunded within five days.
Some extensions do not support the same grace mechanisms, and applicable registry rules may restrict or prevent credits.
43. Incorrectly Spelled Domains
Customers are responsible for reviewing the domain name before purchase.
A successfully registered domain containing a Customer-entered spelling error is generally non-refundable.
44. Wrong TLD
A Customer who intends to register one extension but confirms another—for example selecting one TLD instead of another—is generally responsible for the completed registration.
45. Domain Availability Changes
If Hostwover accepts payment but the requested domain becomes unavailable before successful registration, Hostwover may:
- refund the domain registration payment.
- credit the amount.
- allow selection of another domain; or
- provide another reasonable option.
46. Failed Domain Registration
If payment is accepted but the domain is not successfully registered and no non-refundable provider transaction occurred, the applicable domain-registration amount will generally be eligible for refund or credit.
47. Premium Domains
Successfully completed premium-domain registrations are generally non-refundable because:
- pricing may be registry-specific.
- provider costs may be substantially higher.
- transactions may not be reversible; and
- premium-domain availability is time-sensitive.
48. Domain Renewals
Completed domain renewals are generally non-refundable once the renewal has been successfully submitted and accepted.
49. Automatic Domain Renewals
A domain renewed through an enabled automatic-renewal setting is generally treated the same as a manually authorized renewal.
Customers who do not want renewal must disable auto-renew before the applicable renewal processing deadline.
50. Late Auto-Renew Cancellation
Disabling auto-renew after a renewal transaction has already completed does not automatically reverse the renewal or create a refund entitlement.
51. Domain Transfers
Completed domain-transfer fees are generally non-refundable once the transfer has been successfully submitted and the provider transaction has become non-reversible.
52. Failed Domain Transfer
If a paid transfer cannot be completed and the provider does not consume the applicable transfer charge, Hostwover may provide:
- refund.
- credit; or
- another transfer attempt.
53. Customer-Abandoned Transfer
If a transfer fails because the Customer:
- fails to provide the Auth/EPP code.
- rejects the transfer.
- does not respond to required authorization.
- leaves a transfer lock enabled.
- provides incorrect information; or
- fails to complete required steps,
refund eligibility depends on whether Hostwover can recover the provider charge.
54. Domain Redemption
Domain redemption and restoration fees are generally non-refundable once the restoration request has been successfully submitted to the applicable registrar or registry.
55. Failed Redemption
If Hostwover collects a redemption fee but the domain can no longer be restored before the restoration request is submitted, Hostwover may refund or credit the recoverable amount.
56. Successful Restoration
A successfully restored domain is generally not eligible for refund merely because the Customer later decides not to retain it.
57. Domain Expiration
Loss of a domain because the Customer failed to renew it does not create a refund entitlement for:
- previous registration fees.
- previous renewal fees.
- restoration costs.
- hosting fees; or
- other associated Services.
58. Domain Disputes
A domain becoming:
- suspended.
- transferred.
- cancelled.
- locked; or
- otherwise affected
because of a UDRP decision, URS proceeding, registry action, registrar action, court order, abuse case, or other valid dispute process does not automatically create a refund entitlement.
59. Abuse-Related Domain Suspension
Domain fees are generally non-refundable where suspension results from:
- phishing.
- malware.
- fraud.
- prohibited use.
- false registration information.
- policy violations; or
- other Customer-controlled abuse.
WEB HOSTING
60. Web Hosting Purchases
Web Hosting refund eligibility depends on the terms displayed for the applicable plan.
If Hostwover expressly advertises a money-back guarantee for a Web Hosting plan, eligible Customers may request a refund within the stated period subject to applicable exclusions.
61. Web Hosting Without an Express Guarantee
If no money-back period is stated for the purchased plan, cancellation does not automatically entitle the Customer to a refund for the current paid period.
62. Hosting Add-Ons
Fees for separately purchased:
- add-ons.
- licenses.
- premium software.
- dedicated resources.
- paid migrations.
- external services; or
- third-party products
may be excluded from a hosting money-back guarantee.
63. Hosting Setup Fees
One-time setup, configuration, or custom-service fees may be non-refundable once the relevant work has begun or been completed.
64. Website Migration
Paid migration fees may become non-refundable once migration work begins.
If Hostwover cannot perform the purchased migration for reasons attributable to Hostwover, Hostwover may provide an appropriate refund or credit.
65. Customer Content
Deletion of Customer content after cancellation does not itself create or increase refund eligibility.
Customers remain responsible for backing up required data before termination.
66. Hosting Suspension for Abuse
Web Hosting suspended or terminated because of violation of Hostwover's:
- Acceptable Use Policy.
- Acceptable Use Agreement.
- Terms of Service; or
- applicable law
may be ineligible for refund to the maximum extent permitted by law.
VPS SERVICES
67. VPS Purchases
VPS Services allocate computing infrastructure for the Customer.
Refund eligibility depends on:
- billing model.
- provisioning status.
- billing term.
- promotional terms.
- usage; and
- applicable VPS Agreement.
68. VPS Provisioning
Once a VPS has been successfully provisioned and infrastructure has been allocated, cancellation does not automatically create a right to a refund.
69. VPS Current Billing Period
Unless expressly stated otherwise, deleting or cancelling a VPS during a prepaid billing period does not automatically entitle the Customer to a prorated refund for the unused portion.
70. VPS Failed Provisioning
If Hostwover accepts payment but cannot provision the purchased VPS, the Customer may receive:
- a replacement VPS.
- refund.
- account credit; or
- another appropriate remedy.
71. VPS Configuration Choices
A Customer's choice of:
- operating system.
- location.
- hostname.
- software.
- configuration; or
- application
does not ordinarily create refund eligibility after the VPS has been provisioned.
72. VPS Reinstallation
Reinstalling or rebuilding a VPS does not restart a refund period.
73. VPS Abuse Suspension
A VPS suspended or terminated for prohibited activity may be ineligible for refund.
Examples include:
- phishing.
- malware.
- network attacks.
- spam.
- unauthorized scanning.
- fraud; or
- other material policy violations.
74. VPS Outages
An infrastructure outage does not automatically entitle the Customer to a full VPS refund.
Where an applicable Service Level Agreement provides a specific service credit or compensation mechanism, that SLA governs the qualifying remedy.
75. Service Credits
Where an SLA provides account or service credits, those credits do not automatically constitute cash refunds.
VDS SERVICES
76. VDS Purchases
VDS Services may reserve dedicated or isolated computing resources specifically for the Customer.
Once those resources have been provisioned, cancellation does not automatically create a refund entitlement.
77. VDS Current Term
Unless expressly stated otherwise, unused time remaining after Customer cancellation of a VDS is not automatically refundable.
78. VDS Failed Provisioning
If Hostwover cannot deliver the purchased VDS, the Customer may be eligible for:
- replacement.
- refund.
- credit; or
- another suitable remedy.
79. VDS Abuse
VDS Services terminated for serious violations of applicable Hostwover policies may be ineligible for refund.
PROFESSIONAL EMAIL
80. Professional Email
Professional Email subscriptions may involve licenses or mailbox resources purchased through an upstream provider.
Once a mailbox or applicable license has been provisioned, the subscription may become non-refundable.
81. Unused Mailbox
A mailbox that has been successfully provisioned is not automatically refundable merely because the Customer:
- does not log in.
- does not configure a mail client.
- does not send email; or
- does not use the available storage.
82. Additional Mailboxes
Additional mailbox licenses may become non-refundable when activated or committed to the Customer.
83. Email Storage Add-Ons
Additional storage or other email add-ons may become non-refundable once:
- purchased.
- allocated.
- assigned; or
- activated,
depending on provider rules.
84. Email Provisioning Failure
If Hostwover accepts payment but cannot provision the purchased email Service, Hostwover may issue:
- a refund.
- credit.
- replacement; or
- another appropriate remedy.
85. Email Deliverability
A message being delivered to spam, rejected by an external recipient, or filtered by another mail provider does not automatically entitle the Customer to a refund.
86. Customer Domain Configuration
Refunds are not automatically available where email does not function because the Customer:
- fails to configure DNS.
- modifies required MX records.
- fails domain verification.
- allows the domain to expire; or
- otherwise prevents the Service from functioning.
GOOGLE WORKSPACE
87. Google Workspace Subscriptions
Google Workspace subscriptions supplied through Hostwover may create immediate third-party licensing or subscription commitments.
Once a Workspace subscription or license has been provisioned, payments are generally non-refundable except where:
- Hostwover expressly agrees otherwise.
- the upstream provider permits reversal or credit.
- provisioning failed.
- applicable law requires a refund; or
- another applicable exception exists.
88. Google Workspace Reseller Relationship
For Workspace purchased through a reseller arrangement, the commercial billing relationship for the resold subscription is handled through the applicable reseller arrangement while the Customer's use of Google's platform remains subject to applicable Google terms.
89. Workspace License Commitments
Reducing user usage does not necessarily reduce the Customer's existing financial commitment.
A Customer may remain responsible for committed licenses even where users are:
- deleted.
- suspended.
- inactive; or
- no longer using Workspace.
90. Workspace Annual Commitments
Where the purchased Workspace subscription includes an annual or fixed commitment, cancellation before the end of that commitment does not automatically create a refund or eliminate amounts contractually due.
91. Workspace Monthly Subscriptions
A monthly billing frequency does not automatically guarantee prorated refunds for part of a billing period.
The applicable subscription structure controls.
92. Additional Workspace Licenses
Additional licenses may become non-refundable once provisioned or added to an applicable commitment.
93. Workspace Provisioning Failure
If Hostwover cannot provision the purchased Workspace subscription and no non-refundable provider commitment has been incurred, Hostwover may refund or credit the applicable payment.
94. Workspace Domain Verification
Failure by the Customer to complete required domain verification does not automatically create a refund entitlement after the applicable subscription commitment has begun.
95. Google Enforcement
Suspension or restriction imposed by Google because of the Customer's violation of applicable Google terms does not automatically entitle the Customer to a refund from Hostwover.
SSL AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
96. SSL and Certificate Products
Where Hostwover sells a separately chargeable certificate or third-party security product, refund eligibility depends on:
- certificate issuance.
- provider rules.
- revocation status.
- applicable product terms; and
- whether the provider cost can be reversed.
97. Issued Certificates
An issued certificate or activated third-party license may be non-refundable where Hostwover has already incurred the applicable provider charge.
98. Third-Party Licenses
Third-party software licenses, control-panel licenses, add-ons, or other provider products may be non-refundable after activation.
AI AND USAGE-BASED SERVICES
99. AI Services
Where Hostwover provides prepaid, subscription, or usage-based artificial intelligence Services, refund eligibility may depend on:
- credits consumed.
- API usage.
- subscription status.
- provider costs.
- applicable Service terms; and
- promotional conditions.
100. Consumed Usage
Charges representing resources already consumed are generally non-refundable unless:
- charged incorrectly.
- covered by a specific guarantee; or
- applicable law requires otherwise.
RENEWALS
101. Service Renewals
Customers are responsible for reviewing renewal settings for their Services.
A successfully processed renewal is generally treated as an authorized purchase where auto-renew was enabled or the Customer manually completed renewal.
102. Automatic Renewal
Where auto-renew is enabled, Hostwover may charge an authorized payment method according to the applicable renewal terms.
103. Cancelling Auto-Renew
Customers who do not wish to renew must disable auto-renew sufficiently before renewal processing begins.
104. Renewal Already Processed
Cancelling a Service after a renewal has already been completed does not automatically reverse that renewal.
105. Renewal Notifications
Hostwover may provide renewal reminders where appropriate.
Failure to read a reminder does not automatically make an otherwise valid renewal refundable.
106. Price Changes
A renewal price may differ from the original purchase price.
A properly disclosed renewal-price change does not by itself create refund entitlement once the renewal has been validly processed, subject to applicable law.
ANNUAL AND LONG-TERM PLANS
107. Annual Plans
Annual or longer-term plans may provide pricing based on the Customer committing to a longer billing period.
Early cancellation does not automatically entitle the Customer to a refund of the unused months.
108. Promotional Annual Pricing
Where an annual discount was provided in exchange for a term commitment, Hostwover may deny prorated refunds unless the applicable offer expressly provides otherwise.
109. Early Termination
A Customer may remain responsible for contractual commitments incurred before termination.
Termination prevents future use or renewal where applicable but does not automatically erase accrued amounts.
PROMOTIONS
110. Promotional Purchases
Promotional discounts may be subject to additional refund conditions.
111. Free Products Included With Paid Services
Where a paid package includes a free item, such as a:
- domain.
- add-on.
- migration.
- license.
- email product; or
- promotional benefit,
the refund value of the paid package may be adjusted where Hostwover incurred a non-refundable cost to provide the included item.
112. Free Domain With Hosting
If Hostwover offers a free domain as part of a hosting promotion and the Customer later receives a hosting refund, Hostwover may deduct the non-refundable domain cost from the refund where:
- the domain has already been registered.
- deduction was disclosed or permitted under applicable terms; and
- applicable law allows the deduction.
The Customer may retain the registered domain for its registration term unless another applicable restriction exists.
113. Promotional Credits
Promotional credits, coupons, bonus balances, or free credits generally have no cash value unless expressly stated otherwise.
114. Discount Codes
The amount refunded for an eligible purchase will generally not exceed the amount actually paid after discounts.
ACCOUNT CREDIT
115. Hostwover Account Credit
Where supported, Hostwover may issue account credit instead of a payment-method refund where:
- the Customer agrees.
- the payment method cannot receive refunds.
- the applicable SLA provides credits.
- promotional terms require credits; or
- another applicable reason exists.
116. Credit Usage
Account credit may be subject to:
- eligible Services.
- expiration rules.
- currency limitations.
- account restrictions; and
- other conditions displayed when the credit is issued.
117. Non-Transferable Credit
Unless expressly permitted, Hostwover account credit may not be:
- sold.
- transferred.
- exchanged between unrelated accounts; or
- redeemed for cash.
SERVICE INCIDENTS
118. Service Outages
A temporary Service outage does not automatically qualify the Customer for a full refund.
119. Applicable SLA
Where an applicable Service Level Agreement establishes a remedy for qualifying downtime, the SLA controls the relevant:
- eligibility.
- calculation.
- claim process.
- credit; or
- compensation.
120. Customer-Caused Downtime
Service incidents caused by the Customer generally do not qualify for Hostwover outage compensation.
Examples may include:
- incorrect DNS.
- deleted files.
- Customer firewall configuration.
- unsupported software.
- Customer code.
- expired domain.
- compromised Customer credentials; or
- resource exhaustion caused by Customer applications.
121. External Systems
Failures caused solely by unrelated third parties may not qualify for refund.
Examples may include:
- Customer ISP failures.
- recipient email filtering.
- external DNS resolvers.
- third-party APIs.
- Customer payment bank.
- Customer-controlled applications; or
- internet routes outside Hostwover's reasonable control.
ABUSE, SUSPENSION, AND TERMINATION
122. Policy Violations
A Customer generally will not receive a refund for a Service suspended or terminated because of a material violation of:
- Hostwover Terms of Service.
- Acceptable Use Policy.
- Acceptable Use Agreement.
- Abuse Handling Policy.
- product agreements.
- applicable provider rules; or
- applicable law.
This applies to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
123. Fraud
Payments associated with:
- fraudulent accounts.
- stolen payment methods.
- chargeback abuse.
- identity fraud; or
- similar misconduct
may be handled according to Hostwover's fraud and payment-provider procedures.
124. Illegal Activity
Termination due to unlawful activity does not automatically create a refund entitlement.
125. Suspension While Investigation Is Pending
Temporary suspension during an abuse, fraud, or security investigation does not automatically entitle the Customer to a refund.
126. Incorrect Suspension
If Hostwover determines that a suspension was caused by a Hostwover error, Hostwover may provide an appropriate remedy depending on the circumstances.
CANCELLATION
127. Customer Cancellation
Customers may cancel eligible Services through:
- the Hostwover account.
- applicable cancellation interface; or
- Hostwover Support.
The effective cancellation process varies by Service.
128. Cancellation Effective Date
A Service may terminate:
- immediately.
- at the end of the current paid term.
- at the end of a commitment period; or
- on another date determined by the applicable product terms.
129. Future Billing
Where cancellation properly disables future renewal, Hostwover will not intentionally renew the Service after the effective cancellation date.
130. Outstanding Charges
Cancellation does not eliminate:
- unpaid invoices.
- consumed usage.
- committed license fees.
- provider charges already incurred; or
- other amounts already due.
131. Data After Cancellation
Refund or cancellation does not guarantee continuing access to Customer data.
Customers should back up required data before terminating a Service.
132. Refund Does Not Guarantee Data Retention
Where a full Service refund results in termination of the Service, associated data may be removed according to the applicable product agreement.
CHARGEBACKS AND PAYMENT DISPUTES
133. Billing Questions
Customers should contact Hostwover promptly if they believe a charge is incorrect.
Hostwover will investigate reasonably documented billing disputes.
134. Chargebacks
A chargeback is a dispute submitted through a payment provider or financial institution.
A chargeback is not the same as a Hostwover refund request.
135. Contact Before Chargeback
Where practical, Customers are encouraged to contact Hostwover before initiating a chargeback so that billing errors can be investigated directly.
This does not limit rights a Customer may have under applicable payment law.
136. Chargeback Does Not Cancel a Service Automatically
Initiating a chargeback does not necessarily:
- cancel the Service.
- terminate a contractual commitment.
- cancel outstanding invoices; or
- resolve the underlying billing dispute.
137. Services During Chargeback
Hostwover may restrict Services associated with a disputed payment where reasonably necessary to protect against:
- fraud.
- non-payment.
- financial loss; or
- provider risk.
138. Fraudulent Chargebacks
Knowingly initiating a false or abusive chargeback for a legitimately authorized and delivered Service may constitute a violation of Hostwover's Terms.
139. Chargeback Fees
Where permitted by applicable law and Hostwover's Terms, reasonable costs directly arising from an invalid or abusive chargeback may remain payable by the Customer.
PAYMENT ERRORS
140. Charged but No Order Created
If a Customer is successfully charged but Hostwover does not create the intended order, Hostwover will investigate.
Where the charge is confirmed and no Service was delivered, Hostwover may:
- complete the order.
- reverse the payment.
- issue a refund; or
- issue agreed account credit.
141. Authorization Holds
A pending card authorization is not always a completed Hostwover charge.
Banks may temporarily reserve funds during payment attempts.
Hostwover cannot refund money it did not successfully capture.
142. Failed Payment
A failed payment does not ordinarily create a refund because Hostwover has not received the funds.
143. Multiple Authorization Holds
Customers seeing multiple pending authorizations should first confirm which transactions were actually completed.
External banking holds may disappear according to the financial institution's own processing rules.
REFUND ABUSE
144. Repeated Refund Requests
Hostwover may limit discretionary refund programs where a Customer repeatedly:
- purchases Services.
- consumes resources.
- requests refunds.
- repurchases the same Service; or
- otherwise abuses a money-back program.
This does not affect mandatory rights under applicable law.
145. Promotional Abuse
Hostwover may deny discretionary refunds or promotions where there is reasonable evidence that multiple accounts were created primarily to repeatedly obtain:
- introductory discounts.
- free trials.
- money-back periods.
- referral credits; or
- other promotional benefits.
146. Account Evasion
Creating another Hostwover account to evade valid refund-program restrictions may result in denial of discretionary benefits or additional account review.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
147. Exceptional Refunds
Hostwover may provide an exceptional refund or credit even where this Policy does not require one.
An exceptional refund:
- is discretionary.
- does not establish a permanent entitlement.
- does not modify this Policy for other Customers; and
- does not create a precedent requiring the same result in future cases.
148. Goodwill Credits
Hostwover may issue goodwill credit as a Customer-service measure.
A goodwill credit does not necessarily mean that Hostwover:
- admits fault.
- breached an agreement.
- accepts legal liability; or
- agrees that a refund was contractually required.
149. Insoluble Technical Issue
Where a Service materially fails to perform its expressly promised core function and Hostwover cannot reasonably correct the problem, Hostwover may consider:
- replacement.
- migration.
- service credit.
- partial refund.
- full refund; or
- another appropriate remedy.
150. Material Service Misdescription
If a purchased Service materially differs from the product Hostwover expressly described at the time of purchase, the Customer should contact Hostwover promptly.
Hostwover may correct the issue or provide an appropriate remedy.
151. Feature Changes
A third-party provider changing or removing a feature does not automatically entitle the Customer to a full refund.
Hostwover will consider:
- materiality.
- remaining Service functionality.
- provider remedies.
- applicable contract terms; and
- applicable law.
152. Discontinued Services
If Hostwover permanently discontinues a prepaid Service before the end of its paid term and does not provide a reasonably equivalent replacement, Hostwover may provide an appropriate:
- prorated refund.
- account credit.
- migration; or
- alternative Service.
153. Provider Discontinuation
Where a third-party provider discontinues a Service, refund treatment may depend on:
- provider compensation.
- available replacement Services.
- remaining commitment.
- applicable product terms; and
- applicable law.
COMBINED ORDERS
154. Multiple Products in One Order
An order may contain several independently provisioned Services.
A problem with one item does not automatically make every item refundable.
155. Domain and Email Orders
If an order includes both:
- a domain; and
- Professional Email,
each component may have separate refund eligibility.
For example, a successfully registered domain may remain non-refundable even where an unprovisioned email component qualifies for refund.
156. Domain and Hosting Orders
A hosting refund does not automatically include a refund for a successfully registered domain.
157. Bundles
For a bundle containing multiple Services, Hostwover may allocate the bundle price between components when calculating an eligible refund.
158. Free Bundle Components
If a “free” bundle component caused Hostwover to incur a real non-refundable provider cost, that cost may be deducted from an otherwise eligible refund where disclosed and legally permitted.
UPGRADES AND DOWNGRADES
159. Service Upgrades
Upgrade charges may be non-refundable after the upgraded resources, licenses, or functionality have been provisioned.
160. Prorated Upgrade Charges
Where Hostwover calculates an upgrade charge using proration, that calculation does not automatically mean a later cancellation will also be prorated.
161. Downgrades
Downgrading a Service does not automatically generate a refund for the difference in price.
The downgrade may become effective:
- immediately.
- on the next billing cycle; or
- according to product-specific rules.
162. License Reduction
Reducing license quantities may not reduce charges already committed for the current term.
This is particularly relevant to externally licensed subscription Services.
ACCOUNT CLOSURE
163. Closing a Hostwover Account
Closing a Hostwover account does not itself create a right to refunds for active or previously purchased Services.
164. Outstanding Services
Customers should cancel, transfer, export, or otherwise manage active Services before closing their Hostwover account.
165. Positive Account Balance
Any treatment of a positive monetary account balance will depend on:
- the nature of the balance.
- source of funds.
- payment method.
- promotional restrictions.
- applicable law; and
- Hostwover account-balance rules.
166. Promotional Balance
Promotional or bonus balances generally cannot be withdrawn as cash.
REFUND COMMUNICATIONS
167. Refund Confirmation
Hostwover may provide confirmation containing:
- refunded transaction.
- amount.
- refund method.
- reference information; and
- status.
168. Keep Refund Records
Customers should retain refund confirmations until the transaction is fully reflected by their financial institution.
169. Customer Communication
Customers should monitor the registered email address and support ticket associated with an active refund request.
Hostwover may request additional information.
170. Failure to Respond
Where additional verification is reasonably required and the Customer does not respond, Hostwover may pause or close the refund request until sufficient information is provided.
PRIVACY
171. Refund Data
Hostwover may process information necessary to:
- verify transactions.
- process refunds.
- prevent fraud.
- reconcile accounting.
- comply with tax requirements; and
- resolve disputes.
Such processing is subject to the Hostwover Privacy Policy.
172. Payment Information
Hostwover may need to communicate with the applicable payment processor regarding a refund.
Hostwover does not require Customers to send full payment-card numbers or card security codes through ordinary support communications.
173. Financial Records
Hostwover may retain records of refunded transactions where required for:
- accounting.
- taxation.
- fraud prevention.
- legal compliance.
- dispute handling; or
- financial reconciliation.
PROVIDER RESTRICTIONS
174. Upstream Providers
Certain Hostwover Services rely on:
- registrars.
- registries.
- cloud providers.
- email providers.
- Google.
- software vendors.
- license providers.
- payment processors; or
- other external providers.
175. Irreversible Provider Charges
Where Hostwover has incurred a legitimate provider charge that cannot be cancelled or recovered, the related Customer payment may be non-refundable unless:
- Hostwover expressly agrees otherwise; or
- applicable law requires a refund.
176. Provider Refund Does Not Automatically Determine Customer Refund
An upstream provider issuing a credit to Hostwover does not necessarily mean that the Customer is automatically entitled to the exact same payment mechanism or amount.
Hostwover will consider:
- Customer agreement.
- Service price.
- taxes.
- Hostwover charges.
- provider credit.
- applicable SLA; and
- applicable law.
177. Customer Rights Remain With Hostwover
The Customer should submit refund requests for Hostwover purchases to Hostwover rather than assuming an upstream provider will refund the Customer directly.
LIMITATION AND INTERPRETATION
178. No Refund for Unrelated Losses
A Service refund does not ordinarily include compensation for indirect or consequential losses such as:
- lost profits.
- lost sales.
- advertising spend.
- lost business opportunities.
- reputational damage; or
- third-party contractual penalties.
Any applicable liability is governed by the Hostwover Terms of Service and applicable law.
179. Refund Is Not Admission of Liability
Issuing a refund or credit does not necessarily constitute an admission that Hostwover:
- breached a contract.
- acted negligently.
- violated law; or
- caused Customer loss.
180. Refund Limit
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, a refund for a particular transaction will not exceed the amount actually paid to Hostwover for the eligible refunded portion of that transaction.
181. Conflict With Specific Product Agreement
If an applicable product agreement provides a more specific refund rule, that rule applies to that Service to the extent of a conflict.
182. Checkout Terms
A specific refund condition clearly disclosed and accepted during checkout may supplement this Policy.
183. Promotional Terms
Specific promotion terms may supplement this Policy.
184. Applicable Law
Mandatory applicable law takes precedence over contractual restrictions to the extent required.
185. Changes to This Policy
Hostwover may update this Policy to reflect:
- new Services.
- changes to billing.
- provider requirements.
- changes in payment methods.
- legal requirements.
- operational changes; or
- changes to Hostwover refund programs.
186. Existing Purchases
Where required by applicable law or contract, refund rights applicable to an existing purchase will be determined according to the terms applicable when the relevant transaction occurred.
187. Material Changes
Where required by applicable law, Hostwover may provide reasonable notice of material changes to this Policy.
188. No Waiver
Hostwover's decision to issue a refund in one situation does not waive Hostwover's right to apply this Policy differently to materially different transactions.
189. Severability
If any provision of this Policy is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain effective to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
190. Language
Hostwover may provide translations of this Policy.
Where permitted by applicable law and unless Hostwover expressly states otherwise, the English version will control in the event of a material inconsistency between translations.
